Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account: email address and a password. The password is stored only as a salted scrypt hash. We do not keep the plain password.
• Profile: the answers you give in the questionnaire. That includes a first name, an age range rather than a birthday, the city or area you type, languages, interests, a short personality note, when you are free, and the extra answers for each match type you pick (for example relationship goals, dealbreakers, role, or co-founder expectations).
• Matching and messages: accept or decline choices, the match note we generate, and messages you send after a mutual yes.
• Safety: reports and blocks you submit.
• Technical: ordinary server logs such as IP address and time, used to run the service and limit abuse.

The apps request only the internet permission. They do not ask for precise location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. City is whatever you type.

How we use it

• To create your account and keep you signed in with a token stored on your device.
• To suggest people who picked the same match type, and to write a short explanation of the overlap plus a compatibility score.
• To show a match your first name, city, age range, interests, languages, availability, and summary. Your email stays hidden until you both accept.
• Dealbreakers and other private answers shape suggestions. They are not copied onto someone else's match card.

Optional AI provider

Matching works without any external AI service. If the operator of the server configures an OpenAI-compatible API key, questionnaire answers and profile text are sent to that provider to write a summary, a short acknowledgement in the questionnaire, a clearer match note, or an embedding used for ranking. The mobile and web apps do not call that provider themselves. If no key is set, your answers stay on the Meetified server.

We do not sell personal information, and the apps do not include advertising or analytics SDKs.

Mutual opt-in

Chat and email addresses are revealed only after both people accept. Either person can decline, block, or report.

Dating

The dating match type is only for people 18 or older. You have to confirm that before those questions begin. Meetified is not for anyone under 18.

How long we keep it

We keep your account until you delete it. In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. That removes your profile, matches, and messages from the live database. If the host keeps backups, those can take longer to cycle out. If you cannot sign in, email hello@meetified.com from the account address and ask for deletion.

Who else sees it

People we match you with see the limited profile described above, and your email only after a mutual accept. The company hosting the server and database stores that data in order to run Meetified. An AI provider receives questionnaire text only when the operator has turned that on, and only to provide the matching features. We may share information if the law requires it.

Security

Use the site over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed. Logging out revokes the token. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Your choices

• Change match types or restart the questionnaire in settings.
• Decline a match, block someone, or report them.
• Delete your account in the app, or email hello@meetified.com.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
